A home solar power system consists of an electrical inverter and solar panels which, when combined, work to harvest sunlight and transform it into energy available to households. The solar panels capture photons from the animating sun and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity; the inverter transforms this into alternating current (AC) which can now be used by the other appliances in the house. This system has an option of being grid-tied, wherein excess unused energy can be sold back to the grid, or off-grid with battery storage, providing renewable energy, lowering electricity costs, and reducing carbon footprint without compromising power supply reliability
